What Are You Reading?

The other day I finished Brideshead Revisited by Evelyn Waugh. It is the story of Charles Ryder and his relationships (romantic and otherwise) with the Flyte family and their grand English estate, Brideshead. More serious and less satirical than The Loved One, but still very enjoyable. Being well-schooled in Catholicism, I found the role religion plays in the novel to be very interesting. They're making a movie of it with Emma Thompson to be released sometime this year. Just from the trailer, I can tell they've blown up subtleties into major plot points. So, boo. The BBC also did a mini-series in the early 80's that is supposed to be good... I might check it out from the library.

I've also started The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath.

What are you reading?

I've heard that the miniseries is excellent.

Want to watch it with me when I check it out?

I'd like to see the miniseries also. At them moment I'm rereading Exile and the Kingdom by Camus and Johnathan Strange and Mr. Norrell.

If anything I am reading a bunch of articles and speeches on illegal immigration. I reread some of the Jedi Apprentice books, but as of now I am on pause from reading my book of Spanish poetry.

Yay Sylvia Plath! Even though I've never read The Bell Jar.
I read The Electric Kool-aid Acid Test, which was pretty cool. 1960s, Ken Kesey, and drugs.
Now I'm finally reading 1984. Yes...I had never read it before this summer. And so far, I must admit, I think it's a little overrated. But still good.
